Healthy Highlights at Williamson County Schools

Nolensville Elementary

Heart and Sole – The staff is involved in this semester long physical activity program.  Heart and Sole is a program sponsored by the Williamson County Health Department.   

Jump Rope Club – Offered to all students, meet one morning a week before school. 

Marathon - Students will be participating in the Country Music Kids’ Marathon in April. 

Mileage Club – Students participate in this program earning a trinket in the shape of a tiny foot for every 25 miles walked.   

Mini Fitness Center – A fitness center/wellness room has been developed primarily for staff along with allowing access to the 5th graders.  The room has been equipped with different cardiovascular machines and various fitness videos. 

Pilates and Newsletter – A class open for all staff, meeting right after school two times per week.  This free class is sponsored by the YMCA and conducted by Megan Smith.  Megan also provides a weekly health and nutrition newsletter for parents and staff. 

Walk to School Day – Each year in October students, parents and staff gather together and walk to school as a way to promote physical activity.  The distance is approximately one mile.
