During the months of February and March,
thirteen Williamson County Schools
participated in an activity contest
associated with Walk Across Williamson.
The contest was sponsored by the
Coordinated School Health Department.
Schools were given the opportunity to
develop activity groups with a minimum
of 12 members, but no maximum number.
The idea was to make each group as large
as possible. The goal was to complete
6,000 minutes of activity over the two
months. Each school far exceeded this
goal and in fact logged a total of
654,539 minutes of activity or an
average of 50,350 minutes per school.
These schools also competed for mini CSH
grants. Top awards were determined
based on total number of activity
minutes submitted for the top eight
finishers. All other schools were
rewarded with $100.00 participation
awards. These grants will be used to
support the Coordinated School Health
initiative within each respective
school. Our congratulations to all, it
was a great initial event!
