Reading Recovery

Reading Recovery is an early intervention program for first grade children who are experiencing difficulty with reading. It is a daily program which provides thirty (30) minutes of one-on-one instruction for each child. Reading Recovery is a research based program developed by New Zealand educator and researcher Dr. Marie Clay.

Williamson County Schools (WCS) is a certified Reading Recovery Site Provider for the National Reading Recovery Council of North America. WCS is an affiliate of Ohio State University. WCS provides services for six (6) other systems in Tennessee which make up the Middle Tennessee Reading Recovery Consortium. Kathy Banks serves as the Teacher Leader for this Reading Recovery Site.
