PTO COMMITTEES

You don’t have to be a PTO member to volunteer for a PTO Committee.  By volunteering, you are making a difference in your child’s or grandchild’s school.   The PTO strives to promote a positive relationship between home and the school.  Thank you for your time and commitment to Pinewood Elementary.

BACK TO SCHOOL PACKS: This is a service provided by the PTO for Pinewood families.  Duties include collections of school supply list from faculty, compiling and ordering supplies for “Kids School Box.” Work for this committee takes place over the summer.  Your job is done before school starts!

BEAUTIFICATION & NATURE TRAIL: Help keep our school grounds beautiful.  This committee is responsible for maintaining landscaped areas, gardens and Mrs. Field’s nature trail.  This is a great opportunity for working parents as most of the work is done on Saturdays.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION & CAMPBELL’S LABELS: Coordinate the collection and redemption of General Mills box top and Campbell’s labels.  This is a great job for working parents or parents with small children because most of this work is done at home.

DRAGON RUN: This is Pinewood’s most exciting fundraising event for the students.  Volunteers are needed in the planning and organizing of this fun event held in the spring.  Proceeds are used for various projects and educational programs beneficial to Pinewood.  The day before Dragon Run the students will be allowed to wear school colors (green & white) to show their school spirit.

SCHOOL SPIRIT APPAREL:  Order school spirit apparel, such as T-Shirts, hoodies, etc.  This committee will have apparel available at school events & fundraisers for purchase.

HOSPITALITY: If you have a ready-made smile and decorative flair, the hospitality committee is for you.  Oversee refreshments and dinners at the beginning of school for teacher’s luncheon, Boo Hoo Breakfast (for kindergarten parents), spaghetti dinner at Open House and other events throughout the year.  Fabulous opportunity to cook something special at home and just deliver to school.

HOSPITALITY SERVERS: Assist the Hospitality Committee in serving & cleaning up the prepared food for school events.

PINEWOOD MEMORIES: If you like taking pictures and making scrapbooks, this committee is for you.  We need people to take pictures of school & PTO events throughout the year and make memories with them.

VOLUNTEER (FOR SPECIAL EVENTS): Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help coordinate one-time events such as 50th Day of School, 100^th Day of School, Grandparent’s Day, Career Day, Dr. Seuss Day, Spring & Christmas Musical.

WORKROOM VOLUNTEER: Volunteers are needed for clerical work (such as make copies or organize materials for the teachers).  Assist teachers in classrooms as needed.
