SUMMER READING LIST FOR PINEWOOD STUDENTS

Students will be responsible for reading 2 books and completing 2 activities
for their upcoming grade level prior to the first day of school.
Students should read one book from the lists and one book of their own choice.

1.      Draw 3 pictures that show events from the beginning, middle, and end of the story.   Write a sentence that describes each picture.  (Fiction)

2.      Make a new book jacket.   Write a summary of the story for inside the flap of your book jacket. (Fiction or Nonfiction)

3.      Make a shoe box diorama to show an interesting part of the book.. (Fiction or Nonfiction)

4.      Make 3 bookmarks about the book.  Show a main character, an important scene, and the main idea of the book..  (Fiction)

5.      Make a crossword puzzle using important words from the book..  (Nonfiction)

6.      If your book is a biography of a famous person, write about that person.  Tell why he or she is famous, and three or more things you learned about the person.  (Nonfiction)
