SCHEDULE
Page
High School
follows a schedule which allows students to take six credits and a
directed study each year.
With teacher/counselor recommendation and course availability, students
may take an additional class for a total of seven credits per year.
SCHOOL SCHEDULING POLICY
Students are expected to take the classes for which they have
registered. Changes in
schedules will be considered only under special circumstances.
All students requesting a class change must fill out the Class
Change Request Form and obtain the permission of a parent, teachers,
a counselor, and an administrator.
Students will not be allowed to enter full-year courses at the end
of the first semester unless they are making up deficiencies.
Students who drop a course after the third week of the semester
may receive a zero for that class in that semester.
COURSES
All courses listed in the Program of Study require a
sufficient number of student registrants in order to be offered during
the year. If there is not
sufficient interest in a particular course, it may not be provided
during the upcoming year.
The course descriptions on the following pages are
arranged by departments.
Many of the classes have recommendations that are listed prior to the
course description.

DIRECTED STUDY
Directed Study is an integral part of the Page High School
schedule. It meets daily
and is designed to provide opportunity for students to meet current
course needs, remediate skills, engage in enrichment activities and
participate in student mentoring.
Students who have not passed the Tennessee Competency Exams or
Gateway Tests will be placed in classes designed to provide extra help
in those areas. Students
who have maintained a passing grade in all subjects the previous
semester and have passed the required graduation tests will be allowed
to take selected courses during the directed study period dependant upon
the availability of appropriate courses.
