Golf is offered to boys and girls in 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade.  The season runs from August – September.

2009 TRYOUT INFORMATION

Tryouts will be held during the week of August 17th – 21st.  Your student needs to listen carefully to the announcements during the first two days of school to ensure they know the tryout date(s) and information.   Prospective golfers will need to come by Coach Satterfield’s room (C-11) to pick up a tryout form.

Please understand this is NOT a teaching situation. 

For the boy’s team – if you do not play on a fairly regular basis and have an average of 45 or better at Spencer Creek it will be difficult to make the team.  For the girl’s team – you should play Spencer Creek several times and need to be consistently scoring in the low 50’s.  After the first tryout date, I will let you know if you need to return for a second day of tryouts.  There are generally 4 – 6 Boys that make the team and 2 – 4 Girls.

Please dress appropriately for tryouts:  collared shirt – NO jeans!

Please Note:  As a member of the golf team, your child will have to pay the green fees ($12.00) for each match they participate in at Spencer Creek.  You will also be asked to purchase a team golf shirt.  Players must have their own transportation to and from the matches. 

BE SURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT PHYSICAL AND EMERGENCY FORM ON FILE WITH THE SCHOOL!  YOU CANNOT TRYOUT UNLESS YOUR PHYSICAL IS IN COMPLIANCE.  BOTH FORMS CAN BE FOUND ON THE PAGE MIDDLE ATHLETICS HOME PAGE.
