The 2007-2008 season will be Coach Hobbs' first season as the Freshmen Boys' Basketball coach at Ravenwood High School. Along with his coaching duties, Coach Hobbs teaches Sports Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, and Advanced Algebra in the Mathematics Department at Ravenwood.  He is also the school sponsor for the Ravenwood Rugby team.

Hobbs was a 2001 graduate of Richland High School in Giles County Tennessee, where he lettered for four years in basketball and one year in baseball.  Hobbs was part of a rebuilding process at Richland where he played point guard under the direction of Coach Darrell Long.  The Raiders went winless in Hobbs' freshman season and won only five games his sophomore season, before turning things around and winning 17 games and then 21 games with a trip to sub-state play his senior year.

After graduating from Richland, Hobbs attended Middle Tennessee State University where he worked for four years at the MTSU athletic department.  He spent much of his time helping with recruiting mailouts and media packets for Mens' Basketball and Football.  While in college, he also kept statistics for the Boys' basketball program at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, and worked several basketball camps such as a summer camp for high school girls at Riverdale High School under the direction of Coach Michael Burt.  In the spring of 2001, Hobbs coached an AAU basketball team of 8th Graders and Freshmen at Cornersville High School in Cornersville, TN.

Most of Hobbs' coaching experience thus far has been with younger players and he is very focused on the conditioning, mental toughness, and fundamentals needed to develop younger athletes into successful high school varsity players.
