Mr. West’s May
Newsletter
What a year it has been! Our teachers and students have worked
so hard all year – I know they are ready for the summer break.
We
recently wrapped up busy April at Scales – our TCAP testing went
very well and I am sure the test scores will continue to show
the great academic gains being made by our students. We ended
that week with a rousing Mustang Round-Up and then held our
first ever “Scales Golf Scramble” where 44 players enjoyed a
beautiful day at Temple Hills Golf Club while supporting the
school. Many thanks to Dan and Janis Gaudette for organizing
this brand new event.
The
month of May will continue to bring a full slate of events at
school: the first two weeks of May bring our final IAI testing
of the year; May 9th and 10th will be a
spirited performance of our young actors in “Peter Pan”; our
incredible field day will be May 15th ; May 19th
is our final Skate Day; the 5th grade class will be
honored at a reception the evening of May 20th; and
the last day of school is May 22nd (12:00
dismissal). So much to do in so few days!
As I
complete my fourth year as principal at Scales, I continue to
consider myself lucky and blessed to be part of a school such as
this. A school where the needs of children come first. A
school where teachers and staff work extremely hard and are
supported by families that want to see their children succeed.
A school that has 30+ years of tradition but still looking
forward with our teaching and learning techniques.
I
consider it a privilege to be your principal and look forward to
having that opportunity again in 2008-2009. See you August 11th!
