Mr. West’s
March 2010 News
As
we head into this final quarter of school (Did I
just say that?
Where
has the year gone?!), I want to encourage everyone
in the school to keep up the great work and keep
pushing to the very end.
We
have accomplished much this year, but there is still
much in front of us over these last few months of
school.
The spring semester is always full of activities all
across the school, including Run Club, After-School
Encore clubs, Book Fair Week, great field trips,
Spring Break, our annual Golf Scramble, Field Day,
the PTO Play, etc, etc.
But
most important is the fact that our students are
still engaged in high-level learning until the very
end of the year.
Thank
you for your help
encouraging your child(ren) to stay focused and keep
doing their best until the last day of school.
And speaking of doing our best, our yearly TCAP
tests for grades 3-5 will be held April 19-23.
Please
be sure to avoid all family trips during this week
and the weeks leading up to TCAP.
Congratulations to our Scales Teachers of the Year,
Tina Tidwell.
In her
six years at Scales, Tina has taught 1st
and 2nd
grade and does an amazing job enriching the lives of
her students every day.
And finally, be sure to mark your calendar for our
summer Encore program, July 12-16, 2010.
We
expect to build on last year’s successful Encore
debut and hope to have more than 150 students signed
up for this year.
Watch
for the 2010 brochure to come home soon.
Sincerely,
Rick West
Principal
