"A is for ATTENDANCE"
  • A is for ATTENDANCE
    • We need your child here at school as much as possible.
    • Read through our attendance policies in the handbook.
    • Always send a note, call or email when they are go be absent.
    • Remember… BE ON TIME and STAY ALL DAY

"B is for BIRTHDAYS"
  • B is for BIRTHDAYS
    • You are welcome to send in treats in the morning for your child’s birthday.  Consider sending in items other than food…like pencils, erasers, or other items.
    • Talk to the teacher and make arrangments in advance.
    • If you’d like to send in food, please check on any food allergies.

"C is for CLOTHING"
  • C is for CLOTHING
    • Our dress code is simple…we want the children to be comfortable and ready to learn.
    • If their clothing is distracting to themselves or others you may get a call from us.
    • Tennis shoes are essential for PE days, but they are also great because of daily recess and lots of activity.

"D is for DISMISSAL"
  • D is for DISMISSAL
    • Our school day ends at 3:35, and our dismissal takes about 15 minutes.
    • Car riders will be seated in the colored boxes our front.  Please remain in your car with your paper plate in the front window. We will call your child.  If you are in the first group, you can meet your child at the flag pole.
    • Bus riders are escorted to the buses by the teachers.

"E is for EMERGENCIES"
  • E is for EMERGENCIES
    • Early dismissals will be posted on the WCS website and all of the local channels.  You should also receive a phone call with information about what has occurred.
    • In the event of a school emergency, we have specific crisis plans that we will follow.  Please know whatever guidelines we have in place are for your child’s protection and safety.

"F is for FIELD TRIPS"
  • F is for FIELD TRIPS
    • Each grade level will go on 3-5 field trips during the school year.
    • They select trips that are connected to their grade level curriculum.
    • Parents are always needed to chaperone. Sometimes only a limited number can go.  If you have non-school aged children please make child care arrangements if you want to chaperone.  Parents will need to car pool and pay for their admission.

  • G is for GYM
    • We have 3 physical education coaches, Coach Campbell, Coach Steele and Coach Lewis.  Steele and Lewis job share, and Coach Campbell is here every day.
    • The children need to make sure they have tennis shoes on for gym days.  K students will need to wear them every day because of SMART.

"H is for HOMEWORK"
  • H is for HOMEWORK
    • We try to stick with our policy of 10 minutes per grade level.  If your child is spending more time than this on homework, contact your child’s teacher.

"I is for ILLNESS"
  • I is for ILLNESS
    • We have 2 school nurses, Mrs. Callicoat and Mrs. Ring.  We always have a nurse in the building during the school day.
    • They have specific medication guidelines, please talk to them if your child needs medication during the school day.
    • If your child has been sick, make sure they are fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • J is for JELLY
    • We have students at Trinity with severe peanut allergies. We have designated tables in the cafeteria that are “PEANUT FREE”.  These tables remain peanut free even when the children with allergies aren’t at lunch.  Please help us educate your child about allergies such as this and be mindful of it when you come to lunch.  You may also be notified if there’s a child with an allergy in your class so that you can plan for snacks and parties.

  • K is for KINDNESS
    • Trinity is a “caring family” and it’s important that we treat each other with kindness.  Our goal is to work together to do what is best for children.

"L is for LUNCH"
  • L is for LUNCH
    • Parents are always welcome to join their child for lunch.  Check with your child’s teacher about their lunch time. Sign in at the office when you arrive and make sure you say “goodbye” in the lunch room so they can return to class ready to learn.  The lunch room is crowded this year…so be prepared for limited seating.

"M is for MONEY"
  • M is for MONEY
    • We collect workbook fees at the beginning of the school year.  It’s $25 per child and checks are written to Trinity Elementary.
    • Money is also collected for Field Trips.  These checks are also written to TES.
    • Money for lunches should be sent on Mondays and Tuesday.
    • Send money in an envelope or small  zip lock bag.

"N is for NEWSLETTERS"
  • N is for NEWSLETTERS
    • You will receive the PawPrint twice a month on Wednesdays.  It should be in their Wednesday folder, which has a flag on the front.
    • Newsletters will also be coming home from your child’s teacher.

"O is for OPEN DOOR"
  • O is for OPEN DOOR
    • Mrs. Vest and Mrs. Shadinger have an Open Door policy.  We are here to serve you and your family. Call us or email us if you have questions.  Set up an appointment if needed, or just stop by.  If we have time, we’ll sit down with you.  It’s important for us to work together for the good of your child.

"P is for PARTIES"
  • P is for PARTIES
    • We have 3 party days scheduled during the year.
      • Fall Party Oct. 27
      • Winter Party Dec. 21
      • Valentine’s Party Feb. 14
    • Each grade also typically has an End of the Year Party.
    • Please make child care arrangements for your younger children on these days.

  • Q is for QUALITY
    • We are very proud of our quality teaching staff.  They work hard each day to teach your children.  Take a minute when you can to tell them how much you appreciate what they do.

"R is for REPORT CARDS"
  • R is for REPORT CARDS
    • Report Cards go home every nine weeks.  Kindergarten report cards contain a list concepts and skills.  1st and 2nd earn Es, Ss, and Ns.  3rd through 5th earn number grades.

  • S is for STUDENTS
    • Each of our students has a right to privacy.  Please be mindful of this when you are volunteering or visiting our school.  Many things that occur at school should  remain confidential.

"T is for TOYS"
  •  T is for TOYS
    • Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school. They are a distraction from learning.  Try to limit the personal and/or valuable items that your child brings to school. Things get misplaced easily.

"U is for UNDERSTANDING"
  • U is for UNDERSTANDING
    • Trinity has students with learning differences and disabilities.  We try to educate each child in a manner that is most appropriate for their individual needs.  Please help your children to be understanding and accepting of these differences.

"V is for VOLUNTEERING"
  •  V is for VOLUNTEERING
    • We love to have parent volunteers helping us at school.  Please work with your teacher to schedule how you can help them.  Always sign in and get a Visitor badge in the office.
    • You will also see community volunteers working with our students. We are very fortunate to have so much support.

    • We have a great website with lots of information for parents.
    • Go to www.wcs.edu/tes and spend some time searching.
    • Sign up for Trinity UPDATE and read the PawPrint online.

    • We are X-cited about a great school year.  Thank you for your support as parents as work together to make it a great year!

  • Y is for YOU
    • We have all of our staff and students in place, now all we need is YOU.  Join the PTO, sign up to volunteer in the classroom....get involved.  We need your help!

"Z is for ZZZs"
  • Z is for ZZZs
    • Make sure you child gets a good night’s rest.  They perform best in school when they get the sleep they need.
