Amy Dixon has been teaching for
twelve years. She began pursuing a college
education when the youngest of her three children
was in the second grade. Beginning her career in
education as a teacher assistant, she immediately
fell in love with working with children and seeing
the light in their eyes as they overcame
difficulties and learned to read. She attended
Wayne College and Akron University in Ohio before
moving to Tennessee and graduating from MTSU in 1993
with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
She and her husband live in Franklin
and enjoy reading, walking, and their four
grandchildren.
