Laura
joined the 3rd
grade Trinity team
in 2005. Before
joining Trinity she
taught 3rd
grade at College
Grove Elementary.
She graduated from
the University of
TN, Knoxville in
December of 1990
with a degree in
Hotel and Restaurant
Administration and a
minor in Business.
After graduation,
she went to work for
the Marriott Hotel in
Nashville and
Oklahoma City. In
1995 she left the
hotel industry and
went to work for
Service Merchandise
as a store manager
in Oklahoma City.
In 1998 she was
promoted to the
corporate office in
Cool Springs.
Coming back to the
Nashville area was a
homecoming for her
since she grew up in
Bellevue. Before
the company
liquidated, she
served as the
Director of
Financial Planning
for Merchandising
and Marketing.
After the
liquidation of
Service Merchandise,
she volunteered at
her daughter’s
school tutoring
reading while
building a cleaning
business. Soon she
realized that
teaching was what
she really enjoyed
doing and went back
to school. She
received her
teaching licensure
(2004) and Master’s
in Educational
Leadership (2007)
from Trevecca
Nazarene University
in Nashville.
She and her husband
live in Thompson
Station with their
two children.
She has two dogs and
enjoys gardening and
spending time
outdoors.
