Make-a-Difference Club- Soles 4 Souls Shoe Drive

On April 15^th the MADC held their monthly meeting. April Headley of Soles 4 Soles presented information about the shoe charity she represents to the members of the organization.  She explained to them how they can help them help others by donating shoes of ALL kinds and sizes and they accept used as well as new shoes.  She showed the MADC members some video footage of shoes being handed out to people in desperate need and shared some shocking statistics such as:

3 billion people live on less than $2 per day

26 billion people live in places that lack basic sanitation

300 million children go without shoes

100 countries get shoes from Soles 4 Souls

75% of the shoes collected are given to USA citizens!

Can you help?  So far the MADC has collected about 400 pairs of shoes.  While that is an admirable amount they believe they can donate even more.  Did you know they will take EVERYTHING?  Even if you have a really gross pair of old sneakers they will take them because they donate these to a place that makes rubberized play mulch for children’s playgrounds.
