Monthly Newsletter
Walnut Grove's PTA is a local unit organized
under the authority of the Tennessee Congress of
Parents and Teachers, a branch of the National
Congress of Parents and Teachers. The objective of
our PTA is to:
- promote the welfare of our children
- secure adequate laws for the care and
protection of children
- bring into closer relation the home and the
school
- develop efforts between educator's and the
general public that will
- secure the highest advantages in physical,
mental, social and spiritual education for our
children.
To accomplish these objectives, the WGES PTA
promotes educational programs directed toward
parents, teachers and the general public through
conferences, committees, projects and meetings.
Membership in the PTA is available to everyone,
whether parent, grandparent, teacher or friend of
Walnut Grove. An annual membership drive is
conducted in the fall of each school year when dues
are collected ($5 per member), however, membership
is still available throughout the year.
Join the WGE PTA!
It's only $5 per person to get involved! Each
member receives a school directory, a PTA Membership
card with discounts to local stores and more.
Parents, spouses and grandparents are welcome to
join. In fact, it's really nice to have 2 copies of
the school directory: one for home and one for the
office or car.
Grade level PTA Meetings are held once a year.
You will also be treated to a musical performance
led by our music teacher Ms. West.
