Karen Wight, now in her 19th year teaching, joined Walnut Grove in the fall of 2005.  Prior to teaching at Walnut Grove she taught reading, technology and second grade in suburban Chicago.  Returning to the second grade classroom has been an absolute joy because she is able to share her passion for reading with her students.  Mrs. Wight enjoys crafting, reading and knitting. She has been married for 18 years and has three very active children; Katherine – 15, Chloe – 13, and Owen – 12. As a family they enjoy traveling, playing games together and cooking.
