Academics
Course Descriptions by Grade
A strong academic program is offered at
WMS. The subjects are: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social
Studies, and Reading. Each student also receives instruction in Art, Computer
Technology,
Drama, Music, Physical
Education, Spanish, Technology Lab and Wellness. A student
also has the option to take Band. Resource serves students with
disabilities through individualized instruction, small groups, inclusion and
consultation.
Woodland Middle
School provides a range of services for every disability of students who attend
in our school zone with the focus on participating in the general curriculum. A Gifted
consultant works with identified students and teachers four days per week.
A school psychologist is at WMS three days a week for conferences and testing of
students. English as a Limited Language (ELL) is offered to students as
needed.
Woodland
sponsors a 6th/7th Academic Awards and Recognition Ceremony on the last formal
day of school. A Farewell Dance is also held several weeks prior to the
