Tryouts are being conducted
differently this year, summer 2009. The two tryout dates are July 27th
beginning at 10:00 and July 28 beginning at 3:00 at Spencer Creek. You
will be given a tee time and should arrive at least 20 minutes prior.
Please e-mail me if you have questions or are new to the area or will be
moving in this summer.
Please understand this is NOT a
teaching situation. For the boys team – if you do not play on a fairly
regular basis and can score in the low to mid 40’s at Spencer Creek this
may not be the venue for you. For the girls – you should play Spencer
Creek several times and if you aren’t scoring in the low 50’s and counting
every stroke and know the rules, this is probably not the venue for you
right now.
At
Spencer Creek the cost for each match is $12.00.
Boys play from red tees and the girls from the yellow tees. You must have your own transportation to and
from the matches. You will be asked to purchase a golf shirt and possibly
a hat or visor.
There
are generally 4 – 6 on the boys Varsity and 4 on the JV. The girls can
only play 2 on Varsity matches so I usually have 2-4 girls.
My intention is not to sound harsh or uninviting, but I really need for
you to evaluate your
situation and understand the expectations. After the first day I will
let you know if you need to return for a second round. The green fee
is $12.00 in tryouts also. You should dress appropriately:
collared shirt – NO jeans!
Behavior and academics at school are expected to be above reproach!
I will not tolerate not doing your homework or a disregard for rules.
Parents if you know upfront that either or both of these things are an issue
please make a decision that is best for your child and the golf team.

COMPLIANCE. CHECK WITH THE OFFICE OR
