8th Grade Night at RHS

You are all invited to Ravenwood on Friday, October 20 for the Ravenwood vs. Clarksville game.  Ravenwood will be honoring all 8th grade band members and they will be a part of the band on that night.  All 8th grade students are expected to be in attendance.  Dinner will be provided.  All students should report to the football field at 5:30.  The attire for the night is Woodland Band shirts and something warm.  The students will march to and from the game with the Ravenwood Band and be recognized at halftime.  Students will be admitted free but unfortunately the parents have to pay to attend the game.  All students should be picked up from the bandroom immediately after the game, which is normally around 10:00.

Homework Page

Please be sure to check the homework page each week as I will be updating it to let you know what is expected of each student each day.  Each student has been informed that anything worked on in class or listed as homework is subject to a playing test the next day.

Budget Concerns

The previous e-mail about budget concerns was a little premature although we are still way down from previous years.  Our biggest issue right now is that we need several new instruments to replace the ones that have been damaged or are simply worn out.  We also have more instrumentalists than instruments.  Below you will see what we need:

2 Oboes - $500-$1000 each

2 Bass Clarinets - $500-$1000 each

2 Tenor Saxes - $500 each

2 French Horns - $1000-$1500 each

2 Baritones - $500-$1000 each

4 Tubas - $1000 each

1 Bar Sax - $1500 each

Wind Chimes - $100 each

1 Vibraphone - $2000 each
