Woodland's
Operation
Outreach...
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital
Operation Outreach was a huge success!! The doctors, nurses staff and patients at The Vanderbilt Children's Hospital were thrilled with both the performance by our Woodland group and the awesome goodie bags and posters.
We raised over $3000 in money and donations!! The looks on their faces when we gave out the goody bags was priceless! The boys with their animal flashlights, Bionicles and Batman Begins DVD's and the girls with their "critter" socks, beanie babies and jewelry and make up. Even the parents and grandparents were thrilled with the blanket and stacking rings for the babies - some where speechless. We couldn't have done it without such great help!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Please say a special thanks to:
Dillards and Parisian for donating perfume samples. Fallary (in Cool Springs, next to PF Changs) for donating over 175 pieces of jewelry!! Gaye Pritchet for donating 75 beanie babies!! Staci Irwin for donating Mary Kay products. All the moms and students that helped at our work party on Friday! Mrs. Pantall and the Student Council. Rhonda Wester, Susan Zeek, Emily Hastings, Jane Schnuck and Paula Bhargava and Nick Walker for all the hard work behind the scenes!!
And finally, to our Woodland performers a very special Thanks for preparing and putting on such a great show!!! Margie Wineman-Chaney, Gary Schleimer, 8th graders - Matt McDowell, Natalie Rankin, Maggie Rubenstein, 7th grader - Lizzy Neiman, and 6th grader - Dalton Hughes.
Our next outreach project will be shortly after Spring Break when we will be working with one of the animal shelters and collecting food and hopefully have an adoption day at Woodland! Thanks again to everyone involved in Operation Outreach!!
