Red Ribbon Week 2007

 

Winstead Elementary School celebrated National Red Ribbon Week October 22nd through 26th. The theme for the week, Drugs Give you the Blues, was illustrated through a collaborative mural by the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Ms. Reba Johnson from the Tennessee Drug Awareness Council spoke to each grade level about the importance of making safe and healthy choices for our minds and bodies. Each class participated in a guidance lesson focusing on Saying NO to Drugs and YES to all the other healthy alternatives life has to offer. Additionally students received Red Ribbon Stickers and wore Red on Friday.

We encourage you to take some time and speak with your children about the importance of saying No to drugs.
