• Welcome to the Media Center


  • The Franklin High School Library Media Center supports learning by providing a wide range of resources that will give each student an opportunity to achieve academic success. The Media Specialists assist students, teachers and staff in finding and using information effectively and partner with teachers to teach information literacy skills. The Library Media Center houses a variety of resources, including fiction and nonfiction books, e-books, audio books, professional books, online databases, and reference materials available for students and staff. 

    The dedicated and knowledgeable FHS Library Media Specialists strive to:

    • Provide access to materials in all formats, including up-to-date, high-quality, varied literature to develop and strengthen the love of reading.
    • Assist classroom teachers with locating interesting materials and bringing the resources of the world into the hands of the students.
    • Collaborate with teachers to improve instructional strategies and design curriculum that integrates content areas with information literacy skills.
    • Teach and coach students to use the research process.

    Students may access the FHS Library Catalog from the Classlink Dashboard.

    To request book purchases to be included in the FHS library or a SORA book request, please contact librarians Lisa Graham or Tiffany Tucker for the links to the request forms.

    • Policies and Procedures for Students

      • Come to learn (study, research, work on assignments, read or create)! 
      • Sign in when you come from class or study hall.
      • You do not have to sign in when you come before or after school, with a class and your teacher, or during lunch.
      • You are expected to stay until the bell. If you have a quick errand in the library, please save it for the end of class. 
      • Be respectful of others working around you by maintaining a low level of noise. 
      • Water bottles only, no food or drinks.
      • If you want to print more than 10 pages, please speak with a member of the library staff.
      • Loan period: books = 4 weeks, DVDs/tech = 1 week.
      • Maximum number of checkouts at any given time: 5 books, 1 DVD.

      Additional Resources

      Purdue Online Writing Lab – The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional materials. Students will find information to assist with many different writing projects. 

      Tennessee State Library and Archives– The Tennessee State Library and Archives is a great resource for students and is the official repository for the permanent records of the State of Tennessee. Newspaper records, historical photographs, letters, diaries, maps, political cartoons, broadsides, census records, Governors’ papers, and more that tell the story of Tennesseans and their role in the greater story of American history.

      Williamson County Public Library – The Williamson County Public Library System seeks to meet the recreational, educational, and information needs of county patrons through: a significant collection of digital and print materials housed at a network of county wide locations head-quartered in Franklin; extensive personal computer and related technology; and diverse and interesting programs targeted to various age groups.
