The Nolensville Elementary School library has over 14,000 fiction and nonfiction books, professional books, audiobooks, eBooks, DVD’s, iPads, and other materials for use by our students and staff. We provide resources and recreational reading materials that enable our students to become both information literate and lifelong readers. Educational technology and professional materials are also available for faculty and staff. The Library Media Center operates on a flexible schedule and is open to students throughout the day.

The philosophy of the Nolensville Elementary School Library is that reading is integral to a child’s lifelong success and happiness.
Mission
The mission of the Nolensville Elementary School Library is to provide materials and resources to support the school’s curriculum and encourage the love of reading. Our goal is that students will become independent library users of information as well as technology and life-long learners with a love of reading.

Each class has a scheduled time to receive library instruction, return books, and select new ones.

2nd - 5th Grades – 2 books (1 fiction and 1 nonfiction)

Lost & Damaged Books
Damaged Books
Please return damaged books to the library for repair. Accidents can and do happen. Pets chew books, younger siblings redesign them, snack boxes leak, etc. Books that become damaged beyond repair must be replaced so others may continue to check them out. A damage bill with replacement costs will be sent home.
Should a page accidentally rip, please return your book to the library and we will repair the page with special tape.
Checkout privileges are suspended until arrangements are made between parents and Mrs. Gaddis to take care of Damaged Book Fines.
Overdue Books
There is not a fine for overdue books. However, if a student has an overdue book, checkout privileges are suspended until the book is returned.
Lost Books
Books that have not surfaced in 30 days are presumed to be lost. An overdue bill with the cost of replacing the book will be sent home. Checkout privileges are suspended until arrangements are made between parents and Mrs. Gaddis to take care of Lost Books.
If a lost book is found within the same year it was paid for, you may return it to the library and our school bookkeeper will issue a refund check. If a lost book is found during another school year the book is yours to keep.

Book Fair
Two favored events here at NES are the Fall and Spring Book Fairs. This is an opportunity for you to purchase books to enhance your home library collection, and you might also decide to enhance your child’s classroom collection by donating a book in your child’s name. These events are very exciting and important to the library. All funds raised by the Book Fairs are used to purchase books and materials for the library. Your overwhelming support of these events has made a tremendous impact on increasing our library collection. Your support is greatly appreciated!
If you are interested in volunteering at either one or both Book Fairs please contact Mrs. Gaddis and she will forward your information to our book fair volunteer coordinator.

This list of books on the Sora site are auto-generated from Sora based on publisher recommended interest levels. However, there are books listed which are set at a higher grade level in WCS. Students may only view what is available at their level in the Sora App on Classlink.
