Looking for ways to get involved in your child's school? Become a volunteer. From helping out in the cafeteria to organizing events, WCS volunteers play a huge role in the success of our schools.

There are three levels of school volunteers: Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three. Tier One volunteers may help in highly public settings, such as book fairs and field days, where school employees are also present. Tier One volunteers do not require an application or background check.

A Tier Two volunteer can be in the school building or classrooms with a WCS employee. Those interested in becoming a Tier Two volunteer must fill out the application and confidentiality agreement on the district website and submit a copy of their ID to the respective school.

Tier Three volunteers can be assigned to be with children without a WCS employee, and they must be fingerprinted and sign a confidentiality agreement that will be kept on file at the school. Fingerprinting results are usually available within a week to 10 days, and volunteers may check with their school to confirm the fingerprinting status. Instructions for scheduling a fingerprint background check are available on the district's Volunteer page.

Communication will come from the school level regarding volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Stay connected with your child's school to learn how you can get involved.
