It's Time to Have the Talk About Student Safety

A joint effort between Williamson County Schools and the Williamson County Sheriff's Office (WSCO) is putting student safety at the forefront.

The new Public Service Announcements (PSAs), Time to Talk Safety, produced by the WCS Communications Department, stress the importance of families talking with their students. The video topics were selected by WCS Safety and Security Director Michael Fletcher and WSCO detectives.

"We created these videos to emphasize the importance of us working together for student safety," said WCS Superintendent Jason Golden. "We spend every day thinking about student safety, and there's truly no substitute for people. We know that when our parents engage with their child; when our faculty and staff engage with our parents; and when our whole community works together, we can grow student safety."

  • On Tuesday, August 1, the district hosted a news conference presenting the videos. The news conference in its entirety can be viewed below.
