Sunset Middle students are putting their programming skills to the test in Jared Turner's robotics class.

At the beginning of the year, students decided to build robots from scratch and code them to perform tasks. After much design, testing and practice, students are ready to put their robots in the arena.

"Mr. Turner gave us the option to build a robot and then code it or use robots that were already built," said SMS student Cameron Cohen. "We've spent almost four weeks building and coding them to pick up a block and put them in a container on the field. You have to put some thought into coding the robots, but I really like this kind of thing. It's what I want to do when I grow up."
