Fairview Middle eighth graders are rocking their latest science lesson.

In Erin Terry and Alfred Takop's classes, students are studying and identifying different types of rocks during a lab.

"For this lab, we've been investigating the rocks and writing down the different features on our sheets of paper," said FMS student Leon Gonzalez. "Dr. Takop has been teaching us about the cycle of rocks. I like his glass because he's a good teacher."

  • Students at Longview Elementary are expanding their horizons and learning about the Chinese New Year.

During their library class, students learned about the Year of the Dragon and made their own red envelopes filled with Lion Loot.

"We learned about Chinese New Year and then made envelopes," said LVES student Claire Snow. "In China, they put money inside the envelopes, but we put Lion Loot in it instead. I wrote faith and friendship in Chinese on my envelope."
