For kindergartners at Allendale Elementary, PE is a time to play new games and hone their athletic skills.

On Thursday, April 18, students played a game called Titanic, where the goal was to knock down as many pins as possible.

"It's a throwing game," said AES kindergartner Colin Faust. "It was really fun, and my favorite part was knocking down the pins. I got nine."

  • Second-grade students at Grassland Elementary are learning about friction with the help of matchbox cars.

By rolling the cars over different surfaces, like carpet and foil, students figured out that different textures meant different speeds.

"The smooth floor made the car go the fastest," said GES student Bella Outten. "I think it's because it's smoother than the other surfaces."
