Winter athletic teams begin practice during the summer months before school starts in most cases.
This athletic season runs from early November through the end of February.

During the season, they will practice multiple times per week, depending on how many games are scheduled. Team members are expected to practice during the off season by participating in conditioning from August – November.

Cheerleading
PHS cheerleaders are dedicated to maintaining enthusiasm, promoting and upholding the school spirit, developing good sportsmanship at all athletic events, as well as providing support and encouragement for all school-related activities. The PHS cheerleading team cheers for both football and basketball seasons.
Expectations
During the season, they will practice at least once a week, depending on how many games are scheduled. The squad will split the game responsibilities so that they all cheer at least one game day during the basketball season. The squad also has a short practice before each game. Members of the team are expected to practice during the off season through participating in spring and summer camps.
Tryouts
Cheer Clinics for tryouts will be in April. Teacher recommendations must be completed and submitted ahead of time.

During the season, they will practice multiple times per week, depending on how many matches are scheduled. During the off season, team members are expected to participate in work outs from April – October.

2021-2022 State Championship Results:
Thomas Brown: 120 lb. 5th place
Grant Hawkinson: 132 lb. State Runner-Up; third finalist in school history; Grant’s semi-final victory marked his 100th career victory as well
Josh Ward: 152 lb. 5th place
Will Parcel: 160 lb. State Runner-Up; fourth finalist in school history (only because Grant’s final came before)
Ronan O’Connell: 285 lb. 6th place; Ronan actually lost his first round match and wrestled all the way back through Consolations to a medal in his first year in our program
