Extracurricular
Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. To learn more about a club or activity, select the name in the drop down below.
Student led clubs are initiated, created, and led by students at each individual school campus where the club is active. A student who wishes to organize a non-school sponsored, student led club must obtain prior written consent from the school principal. These clubs are not governed by school officials, but a club monitor is present at the time of student led club meetings held on school campuses. Parents or legal guardians must complete and sign the permission form to participate in a student-led club or organization before their child may participate. A separate permission slip must be completed for every club or organization that each student participates in. Here are the forms:

Battle of the Books
Anyone with a love for reading and discussing books are encouraged to join! We will be reading the eight Battle of the Books selections, and then interested students who qualify will be selected to participate on our Hillsboro team. It is not mandatory for students to be on the Battle of the Books team to join the club. Battle of the Books is a WCS district-wide middle school competition held annually in the spring. This year's competition is on March 28th.

Model United Nations and Youth in Government
Model UN encourages students to engage in debate and achieve a compromise, leading to the crafting of innovative resolutions to tackle international problems. It is a fall activity.
Youth in Government (YIG) allows students an introduction to the Tennessee Legislature. Students draft and debate bills while learning how our government operates.

Fall Play and Spring Musical
Love to act? This is the place for you! We have a Fall Play and a Spring Musical. The Fall Play is in December and the Spring Musical is typically in April or May and is the culmination of months of rehearsal. It is open to 3rd through 8th graders. This is a great experience that builds friendships, confidence, and an understanding of theatre at a higher level.
The 2024 Spring Play is Tuck Everlasting and will be performed on May 2nd through 5th.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
A non-denominational Christian ministry encouraging students with community and fellowship. Students strive to share the good news (gospel of Jesus Christ) through monthly meetings that consist of breakfast, games and a time of devotion. You do not need to be an athlete to attend. All are welcome!
