Summit High Winter Sports
Winter athletic teams begin practice during the summer months before school starts in most cases. This athletic seasons runs from early November through the end of February.

Basketball, Boys
Expectations:
During the season, they will practice at least once a week depending on how many games are scheduled. Team members are expected to practice during the off season by participating in conditioning from August – November.

Bowling
Expectations:
During the season, they will practice at least once a week depending on how many games are scheduled. Team members are expected to practice during the off season by participating in individual play.

Cheerleading
SHS cheerleaders are dedicated to maintain enthusiasm, promote and uphold school spirit, develop good sportsmanship at all athletic events, as well as provide support and encouragement for all school related activities.
Expectations:
Athletes will have the opportunity to cheer through two athletic seasons, football and basketball. During football season, athletes will practice 2 times a week and will cheer under the Friday Night Lights. Once basketball season begins, athletes will continue to practice together 1-2 times a week, and will be split into a “Blue” and an “Orange” group. The basketball season will then be divided in half in terms of game “coverage.” The team will also compete as a whole in the Game Day Division at the TSSAA State Cheer Championships.
Tryouts:
The Mandatory Parent Informational Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 16th at 6:15PM in the SHS Library. Athletes are not required to attend but are HIGHLY encouraged. Attendees may park in the back Senior Lot (football field side of the school) and enter in through the Senior Lot double doors. Attendance will be taken.
