Clovercroft Elementary first grade students are building a strong foundation for their math skills.

On August 21, students used blocks to learn about addition and different ways to reach a sum. The hands-on lessons made learning an interactive experience.

"We used our cubes to add up to seven, six and eight," said CCES first grader Moorea Rocco. "We could take them apart and put them together to get to the number. It's hard to do it with your fingers because you don't have enough fingers to add up to numbers like 12."
