Lipscomb Elementary fifth grade students are taking advantage of the nice weather and spending their writing time outside.

After letting her students prepare and collect their thoughts, LES teacher Beth Ward took her students outside to write a timed paragraph about the Nez Perce Tribe and the U.S. government's opposing views on the land.

"We prepared earlier using a notebook and already got our evidence and our explanation," said fifth grader Sophie Hazard. "We also wrote our topic and concluding sentences. We had 15 minutes to finish the paragraph. It was nice to go outside and write, and it made it different."
