Students at Oak View Elementary ended their fall semester by building snowmen for a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) challenge.

In third grade teacher Sue Hinesley's class, students were challenged the make the tallest snowman they could using only marshmallows, toothpicks and their creativity. The tallest snowman was 21 centimeters.

"I just kind of try whatever I want," said OVES student Clara Deans. "My first plan didn't work out, so I try other things. That's why I like STEM challenges so much."
