First graders at Trinity Elementary are getting their hands a little dirty during their latest science lesson.

In TES teacher Tammy Pack's class, students are learning about the life cycle of a plant by growing their own seeds. They could choose between pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cucumber seeds and more. Throughout the growing process, they're going to keep track of how the seeds change.

"I planted a pumpkin seed because I already have a sunflower," said TES student Harvey Greaves. "I think the seed is going to sprout out, and the stem and roots are going to get longer."
