Grassland Elementary Students Play Ukulele

Students at Grassland Elementary are learning to play a unique instrument with the help of an experienced music teacher.
GES first grade teacher Nancy Peluso has been teaching the ukulele for eight years, and students are loving it.
"We started the class for the joy of the music," said Peluso. "Students have loved it, and it has just continued to grow. We've had it for first graders through fifth graders, and I've had students stay in it for five years. Just a little bit of music in someone's life can make it a lot better."
Peluso works with GES music teacher Christina Summey to give students the instruction they need.
"It's been so great to work with Mrs. Peluso," Summey said. "Playing music just brings so much joy, and we're learning new things every day."
