    For the third consecutive year, more than 70 WCS middle school musicians are hitting the right notes and being named to the Mid-State bands and orchestra.

    To earn the Mid-State designation from the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association (MTSBOA), students had to go through an audition process testing their skills in three categories: scales, prepared music and sight reading. Only the highest-scoring students were selected for a Mid-State band or orchestra.

    "We are so proud of all our students who auditioned for these middle school groups,” said WCS Fine Arts Director David Aydelott. "Having a growth mindset takes courage, and the district appreciates these students and the support given by their parents and teachers."
