Cultures all around the world have perfected the art of weaving, and now Clovercroft Elementary students are giving it a try.

In CCES art teacher Carly Cambron’s latest lesson, students studied the history of weaving and learned how to create their own woven objects. After learning the basics, second and third graders wove yarn around cups, and fourth and fifth graders used plates as circle looms.

“I think they really enjoyed this hands-on activity,” Cambron said. “I don’t know if they realized how many everyday objects are woven, so this was something new for them.”
