Across the State, school districts are reviewing Governor Lee’s Executive Order 80 that was released today. Williamson County Schools has experienced great success keeping our students learning in our school buildings, especially during the second semester of the 2020-21 school year, and that success is attributed to the mitigation strategies approved by our School Board and implemented by district staff. The district has not had an entire school transition to remote learning since February 8, 2021.

Based on the information we currently have, including guidance from health authorities recommending that schools continue to require masks, and with three and a half weeks remaining in the school year, WCS will continue to use the mitigation strategies that have helped us keep our students in the building for the remainder of this school year. We will continue to communicate with health authorities about their recommendations for public schools in light of the Governor’s announcement.
