The 2021-22 school year is off to a great start as approximately 40,000 students returned to their classrooms Friday, August 6.

Teachers, staff and administrators celebrated the return of first through twelfth grade students with all kinds of festivities. Kindergarten students begin their school year on Monday, August 16.

"We had a great first day of school," said Scales Elementary Principal Dr. Melonye Lowe. "We literally rolled out the red carpet to welcome our students and their families back. It was a Welcome Back to School party. We love seeing all of our staff and students, and it was a great beginning to another year at Scales."
