Franklin High students are playing with atoms in Honors Biology teacher Patsy Vaden's class

Using string, pennies and water, students are testing the bonds between hydrogen atoms. By slowly adding water to a penny's surface, the atoms stick together enough to stop the water from spilling over. In another experiment, a piece of string acts as a path for water to travel between two cups.
