Third grade students at Trinity Elementary found a sweet way to learn about stars.

In TES teacher Ashley Potts’ class, students used toothpicks and miniature marshmallows to learn about constellations. After creating a few well-known constellations like the Big Dipper, students created their own designs.

“I’ve learned that some constellations can look like different animals,” said TES third grader Charley Kelley. “I made constellations that look like birds. I like using the marshmallows to create them, because they can be hard to see in the sky.”
