The rain didn't stop students across the district from participating in the annual City of Franklin Veterans Day Parade Thursday, November 11.

Marching bands, color guards, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC) members and others walked down Main Street to show their appreciation for the country's veterans.

"Being able to participate in the Franklin Veterans Day parade every year is such an honor," said Summit High band director Erick Harris. "As band directors, we try very hard to teach our students about community and the importance of giving back. Veterans Day is such an important day in which to give thanks for our freedoms. We take pride in the fact that our community of bands across the district is united in support of our veterans and enjoy marching in the parade."
