From parades and dress-up days to reading buddies and book fairs, elementary schools around Williamson County celebrated Read Across America Week February 28 through March 4.

Read Across America Week helps promote the joy of reading, and students are able to participate in fun activities while learning at the same time.

"We got to read to some of the younger students who may not be able to read as well as we can," said Longview Elementary second-grader Christina Poteete. "Reading is a lot of fun because you can express your feelings through the books."
