Winstead Elementary students and faculty enjoyed the sunny weather March 3 as they celebrated Read Across America Week with a special parade.

With Superintendent Jason Golden at the front of the line, WSES students dressed up as their favorite storybook characters and marched around the school's outdoor track to show off their costumes and books.

"Our students just loved the parade," said WSES Principal Kathy Wells. "We had a fantastic week celebrating literacy to instill a love for reading."
