GNAs Help Showcase Students, Schools

With 50 schools in the district, it can be difficult to highlight each and every one. That's where the Good News Ambassadors (GNA) come in.

Each school has a GNA who serves as the liaison between the WCS Communications Department and the school building. They share information and photos for social media, WCS websites and the InFocus newsletter. GNAs also record clips for School Snapshots throughout the year.

"It would be impossible to showcase all of our students, staff and schools without the help of our GNAs," said WCS Executive Director of Communications Carol Birdsong. "This role is in addition to their other responsibilities, but they take it on because they love highlighting their schools. We so appreciate them and their contributions to the Communications Team."

The GNAs go through a training session each August to learn photo and video-taking tips, proper media protocol and more.
