Kenrose Elementary students are finishing their unit on life cycles in a beautiful way - by releasing butterflies.

Second graders in KES teacher Susie Craig's class spent the quarter taking care of caterpillars and watching them go through the different stages of their lives. After finally turning into butterflies, the insects were released into the wild on Friday, September 2.

"We have loved studying the life cycles this quarter," said Craig. "It's a very happy second-grade tradition to see our butterflies set out in the art garden."
