    Hillsboro School - Elementary

"Hillsboro has a wonderful homey feeling. Being at such a small school allows you the opportunity to get to know students and staff at a closer level. I enjoy teaching here because everyone is flexible and wants what's best for students." - HEMS teacher Janette Geasley

"The best thing about Hillsboro is going out for PE. I really like going outside and playing with my friends." - HEMS student Isaac Fierro Uranga

    Mill Creek Middle

"The phrase 'work family' is often overused, but each day when I walk into MCMS, it truly feels like I'm going to spend the day with my family. The support system I have as a teacher and that the kids have is rare. This school is a home for us five days a week, and the environment here makes a profession that can sometimes be difficult not only manageable but happy. In the words of leader Dr. Poole, 'I wouldn't want to be anywhere else with anyone else.'" - MCMS teacher Ivy Cummings

"I like the electives. They're really fun. We get to build robots, and the virtual experiences are really cool." - MCMS student Thomas Coan

  • Students in Hillsboro School art teacher Stephanie Hooker's class are using oil pastels to create animal art pieces.

Before starting their projects, students tore a large piece of paper into small strips to put on their own collages. Then, they had to choose an animal's eyes, nose and mouth to draw.

"I karate-chopped some paper last class to break up the paper," said HEMS student Alijah Lorente. "This class, we were making eyes and noses, cutting them out and gluing them on. The animal I chose is a monkey, and we're using oil pastels to create the details. It's really fun."

  • Mill Creek Middle students learned about the Nolensville High drone program from special visitors Friday, December 2.

High school students in NHS teacher Elvia Klym's class brought over a drone soccer setup to demonstrate some of the skills they've learned in the program. The goal was to help MCMS students decide which College, Career and Technical Education (CCTE) classes they may want to take in the future.

"Drone soccer is an engaging program to attract younger students and retain them in STEM CCTE pathways," said Klym. "Students will leave the NHS engineering and drone program, or any program, with real-world experience to help them succeed and be ready for advanced projects."
