The Link to the Community
The Williamson County Schools Communications Department serves as the link between the school district and the Williamson County community. The department works with the local media and supports media contacts at each school.
One of the informational resources available is the district’s email newsletter, InFocus. InFocus is produced weekly during the school year and contains district information, student and staff features and other good things going on within Williamson County Schools.
Another tool used to communicate with the community is video. A key element to telling the WCS story, the Communications Department works closely with high school media production students and teachers.
To notify parents of district events, school closings or emergencies, the district uses a phone notification system. Administrators and attendance secretaries use the system to contact parents.
The district also utilizes Facebook and Twitter to keep parents, students and community members updated on events and achievements.
