Tennessee Disability Pathfinder“Pathfinder” helps people with disabilities, their family members, the community, and professional support partners find and access resources, support, and services available to meet their needs.
Parent Academy
The Student Support Services department of Williamson County Schools is thrilled to announce a three-part Parent Academy series for parents and guardians of WCS students with disabilities. Three, one-hour sessions will be hosted via zoom from 5:30-6:30 PM, each covering a specific topic:
January 20: Understanding IDEA Procedural Safeguards. Parents will learn more about their procedural safeguards guaranteed by IDEA and how to understand legal IEP documents.
February 24: Planning for Postsecondary Success. Parents will explore key aspects of planning for student success after their child leaves high school and available programs and resources.
March 17: Understanding and Supporting Behavior. Parents will learn the basics of understanding and positively influencing their child's behavior at home, in school, and in the community.
No registration is required for these sessions, however, attendees must log-in using a Zoom account.
