  • PowerHouse Auditions

Hello students! I know things are going differently this year, but PowerHouse is here to stay! The year is going to be a flexible one, especially regarding fine arts. Powerhouse auditions will be Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22, after school. There will be a sheet for auditions on the Related Arts bulletin board in Pod E where students can sign up for an audition time.

Powerhouse is an auditioned ensemble performing a variety of repertoire including contemporary a capella. They participate in the same activities as BMS choirs with extra opportunities. Because this is an auditioned ensemble, there are extra responsibilities for being in this group as well as extra expectations. This is also an opportunity to be a part of a community of creatives and gives students the chance to uniquely express themselves. It is a place to have fun making music with each other and to improve ourselves as musicians.

This year, PowerHouse may look different than it has in the past as we deal with the obstacles the pandemic has brought. Concerts are TBD for the time being as we learn more. I am still very excited for the experience that is PowerHouse!

    Audition requirements:

    1. Students must be prepared to sing: Happy Birthday and The Star-Spangled Banner (Sheet music with lyrics will be provided) BMS Extracurricular
    2. There will be a musicianship skills assessment as well as a sight-reading exercise.
    3. Excitement for music!!!
